Becoming Whole - With Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga.

In the early 2000s I felt the inner calling to teach yoga.

I began attending classes on Mt Dandenong and it soon began to shift my whole experience of being.

The practice, and the deeper teachings allowed me to see and experience life from a more open and accepting space

Through the practice, I began to let more in…and gently let more go.

The postures helped me learn grounding, connection with the earth, physical, mental and emotional openness, balance and alignment. And while alignment can be physical, the thing about yoga and meditation is that, this too, becomes a whole body and being experience. As you align with your highest values as a human, align with integrity, kindness to all living beings, compassion, understanding, truth and inner peace, love, and joy. The practice - the mindful awareness of movement, breath, thoughts and feelings - gently reveals who you really are.


Balasana - child's pose - was the first yoga pose where I cried. Something about the soft physical curling inwards, curling towards myself, allowed a kind of vulnerability I’d not experienced before.

I realised how deeply I had longed for my vulnerability to be seen and accepted by others…

and yet, I hadn’t fully offered that same space to myself.

This was the awakening within me of the feeling that vulnerability was not a weakness. And within myself it was ‘safe’ to be vulnerable. That it was ok to feel, and that feeling feelings is ok.

That it is ok to hurt, to cry, to surrender control.

Over the years of yoga and meditation practice the many layers of cultural and social layering dwelling inside me have continued to soften, unfold and unravel.

What remains is something more natural. More present. More true. More spiritual.

This is the deeper invitation of the practice.

More than flexibility and strength… the alignment with something within you.

A return to:

  • kindness

  • compassion

  • truth

  • inner peace

  • love

  • joy
